After returning the Tree of Life to the Planar Items portal, the Collectors returned to the Material Plane and checked in with their old friend Curinax. A letter for Jasp was waiting, from his old friend Shaky Jake. The letter asked that they meet. Shaky Jake explained he had a crewmate who had met Jasp’s father while in jail, and after discussing the Planar Wars, Jasp’s dad said the gems that used to be part of a family heirloom were important to the battle. The Collectors agreed more details on these items could be valuable to their efforts to defeat Verath.
After some (a lot of) planning, the group decided to try and infiltrate the prison from the top. A coin with light cast on it was dropped on the roof to detect an anti-magic wards. When none were found, the party rappelled onto the roof from their airship. It took several casts to get through the unusually thick ceiling, but Kin managed to shape the stone enough to eventually create a hole. Unfortunately, endless waves of faceless guards waited inside. Kin surrounded several with a blade barrier, Nayte placed a radiant sickness and downed a few with eldritch blasts, and Boris fireballed the room and chopped others down with the sword. They eventually cut through the guards enough to start searching for Jasp’s father in the jail cells.
