After recovering the Heart of the Dragon jewel from the Sultan’s vault, the group followed the vivid dreams of Korbin to find the location of the portal for the item. The party found a stronghold inside a volcano that had a skull carved into its outer surface. After fighting off fire elementals and using a boulder on a pressure plate to open the final door, the group was ambushed by Ali ben Ali, the blind fortune teller who had previously helped the group. Realizing that he could get back in the Sultan’s good graces by recovering the gem, he and his salamander guards attacked the party. After a hard fought battle with several of the heroes going down multiple times, Ali ben Ali was defeated.
The group proceeded to place the Heart of the Dragon on the portal in the room. Spirits and images of heroes from the past appeared and flew around the room. Just as the gem vanished in a flash of light, a large box with skulls on it appeared from a crack in the ground. The box surrounded Minis, closed around him, and vanished back into the ground. Stunned and confused, the group returned to the material plane and hoped that they hadn’t seen the last of Minis.
